How to Search Audible by Price? An Illustrated Guide 2023
Have you ever tried to search Audible books by price?
If you have, you would already know that there is no option to sort books by price in Audible. If you go to Audible Advanced Search option, you will see almost all filters to sort audiobooks, but unfortunately sorting by price is not available.
So, how to do it then?
Well, there is actually an indirect method. You cannot do it from Audible website or app. You will have to do it using Amazon’s advanced search option.
I have explained it below and I would suggest you to read the complete method, or else you might not get the search results as per your interests.
(Note: Since your Audible and Amazon accounts are linked, the audiobooks that you purchase on Amazon will appear on your Audible library by default)
So, let’s see how to search Audible by price.
Here’s the step-by-step process to search audible books by price.
1. Go to Amazon Advanced Search Page. If you are using a desktop or a laptop, you will land on a page like this:
If you are using mobile, you might see a blank page as shown below. In that case, you will have to take a couple of extra steps. First, click on ‘Amazon.com Full Site’ at the bottom of the page.
Then Go to Amazon Advanced Search Page again. This time you will be able to see the search page similar to that of the desktop site.
2. Now choose your search conditions. Under Format, choose ‘Audible Audio Edition’ and under Sort Results by, choose ‘Price: Low to High’ or ‘Price: High to Low’, whichever you want.
3. Also, choose other search conditions as per your interests.
If you search without any other conditions, you will get thousands of random audiobooks results, mostly priced at $0.00 (When sorted by Low to High Price). So it is important that you use ‘keywords’, Author’s name, etc.
For example, I have put ‘James Patterson’ in the Author’s box.
4. After you have applied other conditions, click on ‘Search’. Here’s the result for the above conditions.
PLEASE NOTE: Though the audiobooks in the search results are sorted by price, the price tags of the books shown in the result page may not be its actual price. You will have to open the book’s description page to see the actual price of the audiobook.
For instance, if you sort audiobooks by ‘Price: High to Low’, results obtained shows the price of each book as $14.95. Which is not the actual price in most cases.
Besides, if you have unused Audible credits in your account, then instead of the price you might actually see ‘1 credit’ as the price tag in the search result page.
However, even in this case, the books are actually sorted by price. You just have to open it to see the actual price.
5. You can apply more Filters now from the options on the left side of the result page to make your results more specific. I applied two filters – Language: English and Average Customer Review: 4 Stars & Up, as shown below:
6. Here’s the final filtered result.
So, that’s how you can sort audible books by price.
I mentioned earlier that the price tags of the audiobooks in the search results page can be different from its actual price. Here’s an example from my search results shown above.
James Patterson’s book ‘Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports’ is priced at $8.99 in the search page, but when I opened the link, the audiobook was actually priced at $7.97. (The prices shown are as on 27 January 2019 and are liable to change)
So, I would suggest you to open the books and see their price on the product description pages too.
